Counter Terrorism

counter terrorismThe Quad announced the establishment of a Working Group on Counter-Terrorism on 03 March 2023 to sharpen its focus to combat terror. It will explore cooperation amongst the Quad and with Indo-Pacific partners, to counter new and emerging forms of terrorism. It will focus on countering the use of emerging technologies for terrorist purposes and will cooperate on countering the use of the internet and other technologies for terrorist and violent extremist purposes. Quad partners remain committed to countering terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including preventing the international and cross-border movement of terrorists and countering terror finance networks and safe havens.

Since 2022, the CTWG has conducted four events in India, Australia, Hawaii, and Alaska, and continues to meet regularly to exchange best practices and practical experience.
